Last week, the US space agency NASA announced a $ 14.1 million contract with telecommunications company Nokia to build LTE cellular networks on the moon, one of 15 NASA announced this year to private companies to promote the development of new space technologies.
NASA told about this news on last week and told that " If NASA's Artemis Program succeeds in returning "first women and the next man" to the moon in 2024, then the astronauts will be able to tweet on social media before putting their feet on the surface of moon. "
This means that NASA wants to build a powerful 4G network on the moon. This is implies that Now Space will also be laced with High speed internet.

What is NASA's Artemis Program?
The Artemis program is a US government-funded crew spaceflight program, aiming to land "the first woman and the next man" on the moon, especially in the lunar South Pole region by 2024.
NASA Artemis Program 2024 |
NASA is spearheading the Artemis Program, but hopes to build a lunar economy, towards the long-term goal of establishing a permanent presence on the Moon as an international partnership to play an important role in advancing Artemis. To lay the foundations of private companies, and eventually sent humans to Mars.
What should NASA want to do?
NASA is simlpy want to establish a permanent presence on the moon and on the way to complete this Target, Internet on the Moon will be the first step.
Yes, NASA wanted to build 4G cell tower on the moon and for this NASA has selected Nokia to Build cell tower on the surface of Moon. By this there will be high speed 4G internet on the Space.
According to Nokia, The network would provide a high speed internet connection to any devices within range of a base station
.
What is the budget of Building Tower on Moon?
NASA has announced overall $14.1 Billion contract with Nokia telecommunication company to build 4G cell network on the Moon. Jim Reuter, NASA's Space Mission Mission Directorate The associate administrator of said," Nokia's proposal to adapt existing 4G / LTE technology for use on the moon could support communication between lunar landers, rovers, habitats, astronauts and more on the surface, This future potential may be critical to a strong, permanent presence on and around the Moon."
What is the main purpose of Build 4G tower on Moon?
Nokia has already says that This connection will be very high speed and the network service will be 4G/LTE typed. NASA has told that the astronauts will tweet before the first step forward to moon, But this does not meant that NASA only wants this for tweeting first post by Astronauts. The main purpose of NASA's building 4G network on Moon is to show his permanent presence on and around the MOON.
NASA and Space-X both wanted to expand their territories in the space and for this the first step will be establish a high speed internet in the space for best and quick communication.
SpaceX founder Elon Musk recently speculated about the possibility of building a Starlink network on Mars.
Can this possible? If yes then "How?", if No then "Why?"
As i know that NASA will never abound this Target because NASA is working on this program to Build 4G Tower on the Moon. NASA can do this but in realtime it can not be possible because NASA and Space X wants to connect MOON to Earth via wireless connection i.e., not possible. This is because of Both "EARTH" and "MOON" is rotating on their axis and in present we have establised our network system on stationary system.
Let us take an example to understand this problem.
On Earth, devices swap data according to transmission control protocols and procedures i.e, Internet Protocol or TCP / IP . When a phone in Tokyo retrieves a tweet stored on a server in New York, TCP / IP requires devices to find an entire route between them. , Hope between servers and other devices around the world, and then broadcast messages in a series of data packets to the receiver.
In this all steps the receiver and transmitter will be in saturators condition. If a link ("node") in the chain goes down during transmission, the route breaks, and the packets disappear in transit.
Many teams of scientists spent years working on a new paradigm for distributing information: the Delay Tolerant Network (DTN). Disintegration (intentionally or unintentionally) can be considered an unplanned delay. Depending on the context and application scenario, a DTN can also be a "delay-tolerant", a "dissolution-tolerant" or a "delay-and discontinuity-tolerant" network.
None protocol can allow Martian devices to communicate with Earth devices in real time, but a DTN can ensure that messages eventually make their way into the space gulf. The Interplanetary Networking Special Interest Group hopes that someday many spacecraft will carry the necessary hardware and become smart-nodes that will tie different areas of the solar system together into a space Internet to build a network.
Nevertheless, the new space-based hardware means a new playground for DTN, which can advocates designing experiments for the ISS, which is just 250 miles below the surface. Regardless of how NASA and Nokia pull it off, it appears that astronauts' will access to terrestrial Twitter - which began in 2010 - will continued in future....
Conclusion-
NASA will absolutely build 4G network Tower on the Moon, and i think that this will be happened. I don't know or tell you the exact time date or year but in futur DTN service will comply in this universe, yes in this universe not only on the Earth this will available for moon as well as Mars.
Thankyou 😊
