How to make a payment using Whatsapp Pay?

Unified Payment Interface UPI is soon available on your WhatsApp. This is very amazing news, Now people can send or receive payments from their WhatsApp. Pay from WhatsApp to bank account without any issue.

Now, With WhatsApp payment feature, People can make a simple payment for the cost of goods. People can send money to their relatives online without having to exchange cash from one person to another. People can send money without going to use another app, or go to a local bank.

National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) allows WhatsApp to go live with its WhatsApp Pay feature with Unified Payment Interface UPI  on 5 November.

What is WhatsApp Pay ?

WhatsApp Pay is an online money transfer method launched by WhatsApp. WhatsApp payment feature is operated by BHIM UPI and processed by payment partners in India.

WhatsApp Pay is an in-chat payment feature that allows users to transact in their contact list through WhatsApp simply like sending messages.

WhatsApp is working with five major banks in India including ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, State Bank of India and Jio Payments Bank.

How does WhatsApp Pay work?

WhatsApp pay uses UPI transactions systems  like google pay, PhonePe or Paytm payments. But WhatsApp pay has only limited transactions service. The payment service will be rolled out to only 20 million WhatsApp users.

Currently, the messaging app has more than 400 million users in India and only 20 million users can use WhatsApp payment feature. You can use this service with your mobile number registered in your bank account the same as your WhatsApp number.

Like other payment apps, WhatsApp Pay is also based on BHIM App. Use your UPI PIN whenever you send money. WhatsApp will not store your card or UPI PIN information.

How to activate WhatsApp Payment feature?

This is a very simple step to activate WhatsApp pay in your phone. You have to simply add your bank account in WhatsApp pay.

After adding your bank account in WhatsApp, you can send and receive money. To add your bank account, you will need an active account in the Indian bank that supports UPI (Unified Payment Interface).

The primary phone number associated with this bank account must match the phone number of your WhatsApp account. If you do not see your bank listed, it cannot be endorsed.

Follow the following steps to activate your digital payment feature in WhatsApp :

• Open your WhatsApp
• Tap to three dots on right upper section
• Goto to settings
• Click on Payment
• After that click on ADD Your BANK ACCOUNT
• Now you will see WhatsApp terms and service pop up. Simply accept terms of service
• Select your bank name from given bank list
• Tap on verify via SMS by allowing making a phone call and SMS
• After verification, your bank account will be shown
• Select to your bank account
• Tap on DONE

How to make payment from WhatsApp Pay?

When you completely add your bank account on WhatsApp pay, you become ready to send or receive money. But before making any transactions, you have to verify your UPI PIN on WhatsApp pay.

Pay from WhatsApp

To verify your UPI PIN

>Goto verify UPI PIN
>Enter your last six digits of your debit card
>Enter expiry date
>Tap to verify
>Now create your UPI Pin

If you have already created UPI PIN, then you have to simply verify your UPI PIN. You have to enter your six or four digits UPI PIN in the verification page.

Make a payment

To making payments from WhatsApp payment feature there are two steps,

>Goto settings from three dots in right upper corner

>Click on new payment

>Select payment method - UPI id or scan QR code

>After this recipients UPI id will verify

>Then You will redirected to payment section

>Enter amount

>Entre your UPI PIN

>Payment done
